Piedmont Environmental Council $40,000 This grant contains two distinct components - one to advance work with landowners to implement conservation practices particularly associated with water quality and a second to continue the operation of a meat cutter training program to encourage more locally produced meats in the Bay region. The Piedmont has tremendous capacity to produce grass fed beef as opposed to feedlot beef but is constrained by slaughterhouse capacity to bring this to market.
