Chairman

D. Keith Campbell founded Campbell and Company in 1972, and currently serves as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Campbell and Company is now one of the largest derivative investment managers in the world. Headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, it employs more than 130 skilled professionals, and manages billions of dollars. Its worldwide client base includes institutions, corporation, and individuals.

Samantha Campbell grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and her first ties to the water were formed in nearby Ocean City during the summer. With her father Keith, she enjoyed crabbing off docks, setting crab pots in the bay, and flounder fishing. As a young girl, further explorations in travel to the Bahamas, Hawaii, the West Indies, Australia, the Florida Keys, and Central America solidified Samantha’s interest in the marine environment.

Executive Director

Verna Harrison was hired as The Campbell Foundation’s first Executive Director in 2003. Prior to working at the Foundation, Verna was the Assistant Secretary to the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for 20 years, serving under Governors Hughes, Schaeffer and Glendening. She began her career as staff on the Maryland Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, and then became the Legislative Officer of the Maryland Department of Transportation. She served for four years as Assistant Legislative Officer for Governor Hughes.

 

 

Pat Stuntz

Pat Stuntz

Program Officer

Pat Stuntz manages the Campbell Foundation’s agriculture, air quality and climate change grants. Prior to joining KCF in October 2007, Pat served for seven years as Maryland Director of the Chesapeake Bay Commission (CBC), whose legislative members work to advance policies and laws to protect and restore the Bay. Pat’s work with Argonne National Laboratory in Washington, D.C. and the New Jersey Conservation Foundation helped to expand her interest in energy and land use issues.

Julie Hester

Program Officer

Julie joined the foundation in March 2005, and manages the stormwater, land use and Waterkeeper grants. Prior to working at the foundation, Julie worked with the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay as a Coordinator to the Citizens and Local Government Advisory Committees to the EPA Chesapeake Bay Program Office. She also worked with DC government on the restoration of Watts Branch and initially out of college as a fellow with the nutrient subcommittee of the Chesapeake Bay Program Office.

 

 

Rebecca Bednarek

Rebecca Bednarek

Grants Assistant

Rebecca joined the foundation in January 2007. She was born and raised in western New York and was an active member of the Glen-Coe conservation society before moving to Annapolis. She provides program and administrative support as a member of the Chesapeake Bay region office, general support to the foundation, and direct support to Executive Director Verna Harrison.

 

 

Anna Lindgren

Assistant to the President

Growing up, Anna spent countless hours sailing in the Stockholm archipelago and San Juan Islands in Washington, planting the seeds of what would become a life-long love and respect for the ocean. She graduated from Central Washington University with a BA in History, with a special focus on geography and anthropology. After studying in New Orleans and a semester abroad in Hungary, she pursued a Masters in International Policy Studies at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, delving into topics as diverse as Ocean Policy, Economics of Organized Crime, and US-Latin American relations.
